If you've just bought some real estate in Columbus, Georgia, maybe because
your heatshrink sleeving job got you relocated or you just needed a change,
you probably want to know what Columbus is all about and what you can do there.
It's a natural feeling. You move to a new and unknown city and you want
to be able to partake in the type of events that you did back home. Whether
you're a sports fan or a theatre guru, you'll come to find that
Columbus is home to a variety of entertaining events that you can participate
in or take the whole family to and this section of the site will deal with things
you can do while living in Columbus. But don't get your hopes up if you're
a huge NHL fan and thought you'd be able to get season tickets to Columbus
Blue Jackets home games because they're actually located in Columbus,
Ohio and not Columbus, Georgia.
It's a fun fact that you may have already read or were told about once
you moved here, but Columbus was founded as and still is a river town. It was
a crucial connection point between plantations in the south and the international
cotton industry. It is also known as being the home of where the formula for
Coca Cola was invented and if you go downtown, you can visit the Coca Cola Challenger
Space Science Center. While you might not be able to learn everything there
it to know about test weights there, you can educate yourself on physics and
astronomy and even take part in cool things like a flight simulation. That's
just one place to visit in Columbus.
If you want to get away from work and dealing with used septic tank truck parts
and just want to have a fun night out, then you might want to consider going
to the Springer Opera House and take in a musical performance. They even have
put on an adaptation of the film Footloose, which is guaranteed to be a fun
time. Or maybe you're a history buff, in which case you should take a
walk down to the Port Columbus Civil War Naval Center where you'll find
all the information you need to know about the Confederate war. It's one
of the most informative museums in the United States where you'll have
fun while being educated. Those are just a couple of attractions you can visit
in addition to movie theatres and amusement parks. Whatever you're looking
for, you'll be able to find a venue for your passions.
And if you enjoy eating out after spending countless hours buying and selling
automatic strapping machine accessories online as a factory buyer and want to
sample the local cuisine, then you're in luck as Columbus is home to a
great range of food joints. Logan's Roadhouse will provide you with one
of the best chicken and ribs joints in town that will remind you of the type
of atmosphere found at the Double Deuce in Patrick Swayze's hit movie
Road House. But Columbus is home to all types of restaurants and you can find
basically anything you're looking for. There are sushi bars like the Mikata
Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar where you can taste some international offerings
if you're looking for exotic cuisine. Or if you're up for food that
your grandma used to cook, head over to Captain Tom's and enjoy their
country buffets, steaks and much more. Walk around and ask some of the locals
for their recommendations and you'll be sure that they'll send you
somewhere special. Go out and explore on your own and you'll be glad you
did.
In addition to what we've mentioned, Columbus is also home to a low-key
sports scene. While you won't be able to attend a game to any of the four
professional sports leagues, you can take in a local Columbus Lions indoor football
game at the Columbus Civic Center. Taking in a ball game or a musical or just
eating out are just a few of the things you can do while living in Columbus.
Keep coming back to the site, as we'll be updating it with more information
about things to do in Columbus. So, take your mind off your stressful job running
a pin mixer and just enjoy the Columbus lifestyle.
