It's always nice to get to know the neighborhood you're about to move to and a good idea to make sure that you know what you're getting yourself into. If you're a born and breed Virginian and have grown accustom to the Tysons Corners spa package, you should be prepared for the fact that Columbus isn't home to such a great relaxation center. But don't fret; there are many places in Columbus where you can experience an amazing spa treatment, such as Wildwood Day Spa. You just have to scope out the area and you'll soon be enjoying a great spa, or whatever type of activity you were fond of back home. Researching the area is a key in finding out if Columbus will be a huge culture shock or if it'll be just like the home you used to have. And if you can't seem to find any faux painting classes to join, just start your own and throw yourself into the Columbus community.

Columbus is currently the third largest city in the United States in terms of size and landmass. So, if you're moving to Columbus from a city with a small town feel, don't feel completely overburdened with the fact that you're moving to a larger city. While it does have a population of over 180,000 people, it's not as densely populated as other big cities in the United States like Los Angeles, so you shouldn't worry too much about overly crowded streets. You can walk down the street to work at the shoal draft keel manufacturing plant and not have to worry about sidestepping out of the way at an alarming rate.

There are also lots of opportunities for further education in Columbus. Maybe you're looking to work for a food PR agency and can obtain your marketing degree at Columbus University. It's a fully accredited institution and you can take a variety of courses in such subject areas as biology, anthropology, sociology and many more. Or you could train in healthcare at one of the local community colleges. And if you're a big time sports fan, treat yourself to some of the NCAA Division II athletic programs that the university takes part in. From men's and women's basketball to tennis, you'll always find a sport every season to root for.

Once you move to Columbus and immerse yourself into the city and the atmosphere it brings, you'll find that you probably made the right decision in moving there. It truly can be a great city if you choose to let it win you over. So, enjoy your new town and new home and enjoy some fine southern hospitality.
